Rules:

(TWO underage players from lower division per team permitted)

MEN’S DIVISIONS:

55+ Players must be 55 or older in 2025
           Teams may bat unlimited players but must field 10 players

60+ Players must be 60 or older in 2025
          Teams may bat unlimited players but must field 10 players

65+ Players must be 65 or older in 2025
          Teams may bat unlimited players but must field 11 players

70+ Players must be 70 or older in 2025
           Teams may bat unlimited players but must field 11 players

75+ Players must be 74+ in 2025
           Teams may bat unlimited players but must field 11 players

WOMEN’S DIVISION(S):
55+ Players must be 55 or older in 2025
            Teams may bat unlimited players but must field 11 players.
            If average age is 5 or more years difference between two teams, then the younger team
            will give up 1 run each for innings 2 to 6.
            If 8 or more teams are registered, new divisions will be created using team average age.

You are required to submit your roster with dates of birth prior to arriving at the tourney by snail mail or e-mail.
Your roster can change if need be. You can bring as many players as you wish but please note that the tourney is limiting prizes to 15 players per team.

Special Tournament Rules:

NSA Rules apply—with the following exceptions:

Bring your favourite bat. All Official Softball bats (including senior bats) with the exception of damaged, shaved or titanium bats are allowed. However, underage players in the 70+ and 74+ divisions and all women's 55+ divisions will be allowed to use only an SPN approved bat (one that has either a USSSA (U-Trip) certification or a 2004 ASA certification.)

Illegal bats will result in ejection of the offending player. Offending player will be ejected from the game by the umpire if the bat is used to strike the ball. The play will be regarded as a strikeout with no base-runner movement.

• A player may only play for one team. If a protest is filed, a team could forfeit that game plus all other games in which the ineligible player played. If you are short a player, contact us ASAP. We will provide you with extra players.
• Games to be 7 innings, with the 5-run limit per inning except in the 7th or open inning. No new innings after 1 hr. and 20 mins. If the home team has scored more runs than the visitors going into the bottom of the last inning, the game is over.
• If time permits, play continues as per “International” tiebreaker rule:
  The last batter to complete a turn at bat goes to 2nd base and 1 out will be recorded before play resumes.
  Round Robin games still tied with no time left shall result in 1 point being awarded to each team.
  In the event of a tie in the final standings, the 1st tie-breaker will be the head-to-head results.
  All elimination games to be played until a winner is declared. Tie breaker rules to start extra innings.
• "Mercy Rule”: Team losing by 12 runs MAY call the game..
  
• Sliding is permitted. No over-running of bases allowed. Runners not forced must be tagged except at home plate where a scoring line will be used. The catcher must be in contact with the strike mat before the runner crosses the scoring line.
• A Pitchers’ Box will be used. Pitchers will be required to have one foot on the rubber until contact with the bat is made.
• A 2 (over-the fence) Home Run differential will be applied. Any (over the fence) Home Run exceeding the 2 HR differential will be regarded as a single and all runners will advance one base.
• A strike mat will be used.
• Tagging is permitted.
• Free positional substitution in the field. Inform umpire.
• Courtesy runners. The batter must reach 1st base before being replaced. Courtesy runners must be from the roster. A player can pinch run only once per inning.
• Injuries: If a team bats all players on the roster it will not be an automatic out if a player is injured.
  
• Score sheets will be provided. Each team must provide a scorer. The winning team's score sheet MUST be returned to the scorer's table at the end of the game.
